Volunteer Notice: The Importance of Being Earnest production staff
Production staff needed for The Importance of Being Earnest
Written by Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest is probably the wittiest comedy in the English language. To avoid various social responsibilities, Jack Worthing has invented an irresponsible younger brother named Earnest. This is a farcical comedy set in late Victorian era London, in which the leading characters maintain fictitious personae to escape burdensome social obligations.
The Importance of Being Earnest is a drawing room comedy with a small cast with longer than traditional scenes. There will be few props but elaborate stage dressings. Some technical/creative expertise is desirable to create an onstage fountain with running water. The lighting esthetic will include a general wash with spots and a garden at various times during the day and night.
We are looking for the following positions:
Stage Manager
Costume Designer
Lighting Designer
Set Designer
Sound Designer
Set Dresser
Prop Manager
Auditions will be held in March with rehearsals beginning shortly thereafter.
