Please prepare 32 bars or 90 seconds of a contemporary (1970s+) musical theater
song (no a cappella singing).
Also prepare a monologue of your choice, 90 seconds or less, either memorized or extremely familiar.
Please look over the character breakdown and select one or two of the character’s brief speeches to present in addition to your monologue. They do not need to be roles that you are specifically interested in.

Or bring them to auditions. If you do not have a headshot or photo, our team may take a photo at auditions. Please email us with any questions or if you are interested but unable to attend the auditions.
Auditions will be held at The Footlight Club Theater (Eliot Hall), 7A Eliot St, Jamaica Plain, MA.

Masks are now encouraged by not required for our audiences. Vaccines are also no longer required for our audiences. However, while we do not ask for proof, we expect that everyone in our cast/crew is fully vaccinated for COVID. The FLC has COVID tests available for the cast/crew to use if anyone experiences any symptoms. Reach out to the producer if you need one of these tests.
Masks are optional for production staff, cast and crew during auditions and the rehearsal process. We expect to perform A Man of No Importance unmasked and without social distancing measures for actors. Policies and procedures will be in place to ensure actor and production staff safety throughout the rehearsal and production period, including the provision of hand sanitizer and efforts to maintain proper ventilation and airflow in our historic building. If you notice we are out of hand sanitizer, masks, or any other cleaning supply, please notify the stage manager or producer. Additionally, understudies may be used during our rehearsal and performances to allow for the requirement that actors call out when feeling ill. All folks auditioning will be asked to read and agree to our policies. To read the complete document prior to auditions, please click here.
