Jamaica Plain artist Sharif Muhammad picked up a paint brush in 2011 and realized he never wanted to put it down. He believes his artistic purpose is to represent, empower, uplift, glorify and convey the emotions of black and brown people living in America. Art enables him to express feelings about being a black man in America that would be flattened, simplified and limited by verbal or literal expression.
