On the occasion of the production of “The Prom,” the Boston Comics Roundtable and the Footlight Club celebrate the area’s vibrant community of LGBTQ comics creators.
From capturing delicate relationship dramas to far-flung fantasy and sci-fi, this work just gives a hint at the range of queer content in comics today – and here in Boston.
The pages on these walls demonstrate how comics – just lines on paper, and pictures in boxes – can be a powerful and fluid medium for stories that resist limitations.
“LGBTQ themes” don’t have to be the sole province of any particular identity, either, as the themes themselves are often universal as well.
Low-key or action-packed, our artists all affirm the promise of the show’s title, “Love Is For All of Us”
